Expert Repair & Failure Analysis

Related Model: Cameron TK — Top Entry Ball Valve. Sizes 6"-48", Classes 150-2500. Application: Pipeline and subsea, in-line maintenance.

What Usually Goes Wrong

Gate/Ball Stuck: Gate or ball becomes stuck due to scale buildup, corrosion, or debris between seat and gate. Valve won't open or close fully. Common in valves left in one position for extended periods.

Repair: Inject penetrating lubricant through grease fitting. If stuck, may require partial disassembly. For Pow-R-Seal valves, the expanding mechanism may need rebuilding. Lead time: 1-2 weeks.

Stem Packing Leak: Packing gland develops external leak due to thermal cycling, vibration, or age. Visible as weeping or dripping at the stem. Common after 3-5 years without maintenance.

Repair: Replace packing rings (typically 5-ring Grafoil set). Torque gland bolts to manufacturer spec. Can often be done in-line without valve removal. Lead time: 1-3 days with parts on hand.

Repair Lead Time

Complete overhaul: 4-8 weeks — full teardown, all internals replaced, hydro tested
