How to Identify Your Valve Brand and Model
To get an accurate quote for your surplus valves, you need to identify the brand, model, size, pressure class, and material. Here's how to find this information:
Where to Find Valve Information
| Location | Information Found | Tips |
|---|---|---|
| Nameplate (tag) | Brand, model, size, class, material, serial # | Usually on the body or bonnet. Take a clear photo. |
| Body casting | Material grade, pressure class, size | Look for raised letters on the body (e.g., "WCB", "150") |
| Flange markings | Size, class, material standard | Stamped on flange face or OD |
| Actuator nameplate | Actuator brand, model, torque | Separate tag on the actuator body |
| Paint/color coding | Sometimes indicates material or service | Blue = low-temp, silver = stainless, etc. |

If the nameplate is corroded, missing, or illegible, send us the best photos you can get of the valve body, any markings, and measurements (face-to-face length, flange diameter). Our experienced buyers can often identify valves from photos alone.
